Privacy Notice
This notice explains what personal information Clmbn collects through this website and our community, why we collect it, and the choices you have. It is written in plain language. Questions are welcome at hello@clmbn.co.
1. Who we are
Clmbn is run by Chido Dickay, who decides how your personal information is used (the “controller”). You can contact us at hello@clmbn.co.
2. What we collect, and why
When you send a request through our form (to join a waitlist, ask about a service or ask a question), we collect:
- your name and email address;
- what you are interested in;
- your availability and a short note about where you are in your IT journey, if you choose to give them.
We use these only to reply to you, to tell you about the programme or service you asked about, and to manage any programme or service you join. We do not use your form details for advertising, and we do not sell them.
When you join our Discord community, you join on Discord’s own platform. Discord collects and uses your information under its own terms and privacy policy. We can see your Discord username and profile and anything you post in our server. Please do not post sensitive personal information, such as ID numbers or financial details, in the community.
If you send us a CV or other documents for a service, we use them only to provide that service.
When you email us, we keep your message and our replies so we can help you.
When you visit this website, our hosting provider and our domain provider process technical information such as your IP address and browser details so the site can load and stay secure. We also use a privacy-focused website analytics service to count visits and see which pages are viewed, roughly where visitors come from and which devices and browsers they use. It is designed not to use cookies or to track you across other websites, and we use it only for overall statistics so we can improve the site and see whether our promotion is working. We do not use advertising tools on this site. You can block analytics with your browser’s tracking protection or an ad blocker, or ask us to stop by emailing us.
3. Our reasons for using your information
We use your information because you asked us to (for example, to answer your request), because we have a legitimate interest in running and securing a small education and mentoring business, and, where we ask for it, because you have given your consent. You can withdraw consent at any time.
4. Who we share it with
We do not sell your information. We use a small number of service providers to run Clmbn:
- a website hosting provider, which hosts this website and stores form submissions;
- a domain and analytics provider, which manages our domain name settings and provides our website analytics;
- a font provider, which supplies the typefaces used on this site, so your browser contacts it when the page loads and your IP address is shared with it;
- an email provider, which delivers and stores our email;
- the community platform you join (Discord), as described above.
These providers handle your information under their own terms. If you would like to know exactly which providers we use, email us and we will tell you. We may also share information if the law requires it.
5. Transfers outside your country
Some of these providers are based in, or process information in, other countries, including the United States. We choose providers that describe safeguards for international transfers, but their systems are not under our control.
6. How long we keep it
We keep your information only as long as we need it to answer your request and to run any programme or service you join. After that we delete it, unless the law requires us to keep it. You can ask us to delete it sooner.
7. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you can ask us to give you a copy of your information, correct it, delete it, limit or stop how we use it, or hand it to you in a usable format. You can also withdraw consent at any time. Email hello@clmbn.co and we will reply within one month.
If you are unhappy with how we handle your information, please tell us first so we can put it right. You also have the right to complain to your data protection authority, such as the Information Commissioner’s Office in the United Kingdom or the Nigeria Data Protection Commission in Nigeria.
8. Cookies
This website does not set advertising cookies, and the analytics we use is designed to work without cookies. Discord and other services you reach through links on this site may use their own cookies, under their own policies.
9. Children
Clmbn is for adults aged 18 or over. If you believe a child has given us personal information, please email us and we will delete it.
10. Changes to this notice
We may update this notice as Clmbn grows, for example if we add email newsletters or payments. The date at the top shows when it was last changed.
